CONIDECK Covers Car Park at £350m Silverburn Retail Centre

BASF Construction Chemicals (UK) Ltd has supplied its Conideck car deck membrane system to the biggest car park built in Scotland in the last 10 years. The car park is part of the new £200m Silverburn Mall, located on the southern outskirts of Glasgow adjacent to the M77. The 75-acre shopping complex includes a £50m Tesco store, the largest in Scotland, and is more than three times the size of the old Pollok shopping centre.
Around 49,000m2 of Conideck has been installed by contractor USL StructureCare on this Design & Build contract led by Civil Engineering contractor Dunne Building and Civil Engineering, part of The Dunne Group and the main contractor for the £15 million multi-storey car park. Dunne is also carrying out the concrete substructure and superstructure works within the main Mall. USL StructureCare has installed over 11,000m2 of Conideck 2205 to the roof level of the MSCP and 35,000m2 of Conideck 2260 to the intermediate level of the car park at this prestigious new development. Said Chris Raine, Dunne’s Construction Director: “The design of the four storey car park is a customized solution to meet customer, business and operational needs with a capacity of nearly 2,000 spaces. This project will form a major part of the redevelopment and regeneration of the Greater Pollok Initiative.”
